This unit will Investigate both misdemeanor crimes as well as major crimes.


Polygraph Tests And Arson Investigations Are handled by Capt. Bracewell.
Child Abuse and Sexual Assaults are mainly handled by Capt. Tipton, Sgt. Frazier or Sgt. Baggett.

The Laurens County Sheriff's Department, the Laurens County Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS) and the Dublin Police Department work together to provide trained Officers that focus their investigations on child abuse and child molestations complaints.    Laurens County DFCS receives approximately 650 child abuse and neglect reports each year.  Many of these complaints are able to be cleared or addressed using DFCS resources. 
 

CRIMINAL INVESTIGATORS AVERAGE MORE THAN 120 CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS
ANNUALLY ADDRESSING ISSUES OF CRIMINAL ACTIVITY.

The Unit will also assist the Drug Unit on Request for search warrants and Surveillance procedures.
